Esteban Villegas is a Colombian-American and business administrator who graduated from the College of Higher Studies in Management (CESA). He began his career at the Union of Swiss Banks (UBS), learning about wealth management and at the same time international capital transfers. However, his interest in finance and the desire to promote financial inclusion led him to join the fintech Treinta, dedicated to providing technological financial services to shopkeepers in Colombia. Co-founded Zulu with Julián Delgado with the premise of creating an international payments ecosystem for companies. Esteban is part of the board of directors of Colombia Fintech, consolidating himself as one of the youngest leaders in the fintech ecosystem in Colombia.
He is a Colombian economist from the Universidad de los Andes and has an entrepreneurial spirit that in a short time led him to lead the design and technological development of Zulu. He began his working life at fintech Thirty because he wanted to know first-hand the process of creating and running a financial technology company. There he was in the Growth and Business Intelligence segment, where he had to learn how to use customer data for the benefit of the growth of that fintech. He also became passionate about the world of digital payments through his immersion in payment methods such as links, dataphones and understanding that, from this segment, he could contribute a lot to financial inclusion. While working there, he met Esteban Villegas, current CEO of Zulu, and together they decided to leave Treinta and start a new fintech. Julian is in charge of the design, development, implementation and above all of the innovation of the technological infrastructure that Zulu used to make international payments to more than 400 users in more than 55 countries around the world.
